Ravenholt & Associates was formed by Dirk A. Ravenholt, Esq. in 1994 as a small, but strong, alternative law firm to the large impersonal law firms in the Las Vegas market. Attorney Ravenholt has been a resident in Las Vegas since 1962 and has enjoyed watching the small town grow into a metropolitan city.
Attorney Ravenholt was the Student Body President of UNLV in 1981 and accomplished many things for the university system. He was the Chairman of the Board for KUNV 91.5 radio station from 1978 through 1981. He formulated and accomplished the building of the radio station, the purchasing and erecting of the radio tower on Black mountain, and the establishment of the Jazz format for this outstanding radio station.
Attorney Ravenholt is also known as the creator of the UNLV mascot (the rebel) that is still used for the university today. You are welcome to ask about this piece of Las Vegas history during your consultation.
Attorney Ravenholt was responsible for the first slot machine litigation on behalf of early television stars. He successfully sued IGT and Universal Studios for using images of the actors from the (Munsters) television show without their permission. Using the Screen Actors Guild 1964 contract, he was able to obtain a settlement for his clients without trial.
Attorney Ravenholt in the past five years was responsible for the national Wal Mart class action litigation. In this litigation, he represented 3.2 million plaintiff employees against Wal Mart for failure to pay all employees the wages they had earned from missed meal breaks and overtime. This nationwide litigation (39 States) again settled without a trial in 2009 for EIGHTY FIVE MILLION DOLLARS ($85,000,000.00) Ravenholt & Associates may be small, but we handle all sizes of legal matters. We take pride in taking on justice causes and bringing them to a successful conclusion.
Ravenholt &Associates has enjoyed representing many corporate clients over the years including R.C. Farms (the recycling pig farm), Waste Management, KVPM Channel 41 television station along with many well known Las Vegas icons. We enjoy handling these clients issues and yet maintaining it is our policy to not be on the front page of the newspapers. That is why we have been a referral law firm with very little advertising over the years. Good clients tell their friends of our outstanding service and they call for appointments.
After winning the WalMart class action litigation, Attorney Ravenholt decided to assist the citizens of Las Vegas with their housing crisis. We provided loan modification assistance throughout 2009 and now are providing low cost legal representation at the Loan Mediations that are required before a bank can foreclose. We are able to modify loans at this one hearing when it used to take two or more months. If you are in trouble on your home, come see us for assistance.
